The Mission Committee oversees and coordinates 'Hands-On' Opportunities so members of the congregation may have a personal experience to “Find Christ in Need, Serve Christ in Deed.” In 2010, opportunities include:
1. Tutoring in the Schools: Work one-on-one in a local school with children struggling with reading.
2. Licking County Coalition for Care: Serve as a trained volunteer in an ecumenical effort to provide emergency assistance to local families in crisis.
3. Healing Arts for Haiti: Support a local medical team in preparing for medical missions to Haiti.
4. Hospice Bereavement Camp for Kids: Help at a weeklong summer camp for youth dealing with the loss of a loved one.
5. Men’s Mentoring and Maintenance: Do simple maintenance and other projects with disadvantaged teens in the YES program.
6. Christmas for Kids: Provide Christmas gifts to Licking County children in need.
7. Cooking and Caring for Kids: Help plan and prepare a monthly celebration meal for disadvantaged teens in the YES program.
8. Habitat for Humanity: Help the Licking County chapter rebuild its volunteer base and its efforts to provide low-income families with affordable, quality homes.
9. Salvation Army Soup Kitchen: Help serve lunch or dinner.
10. Teen Center: Support our church-sponsored Teen Center by helping with special needs and events.
11. Books for Kids: Support South Andros Island school libraries in Bermuda serving impoverished youth.
